Going to Muslim Friendly Tourism: Evidence from Toraja, Indonesia
Abstract
The phenomenon of the number of Muslim tourists in traveling continues to increase. However, the availability of Muslimfriendly services and facilities is still limited. So, this study aims to analyze the development of the concept of Muslim friendly tourism and the availability of Muslim friendly services and facilities in Toraja Regency. This research use desciptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, focus group discussions (FGD) and documentation. Sampling using purposive sampling. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using data reduction methods, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the development of the concept of Muslim friendly tourism has been carried out in Toraja naturally,This research will theoretically provide an understanding of the development of Muslim-friendly tourism in Muslim minority areas. Practically, this research becomes input for the management and development of Muslimfriendly tourism in the future.
