Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui makna kata “jangan” atau “larangan” dalam Al-Quran serta menjelaskan bagaimana bentuk-bentuk dari makna tersebut yang dituangkan dalam QS. an-Nisa, al-Jumu’ah, an-Nahl, dan al-Isra’. Metode yang dipakai pada penelittian ini dengan menggunakan Library Research (Kajian Kepustakaan), karena peneliti hanya mengambil referensi dari berbagai buku dan jurnal-jurnal yang terkait untuk membahas makna kata ‘jangan’ dalam al-Quran. Peneliti menemukan hasil penelitianya pada pembahasan kata “Jangan” yakni sebanyak 54 kali disebutkan dalam Al-Quran namun isi artikel ini peneliti memaparkan sebagian bentuk katanya. Pembahasan ini menjelaskan tentang makna kata “Jangan” atau “Nahy”berupa larangan yang Allah berikan kepada hamba-Nya, baik larangan untuk meninggalkan, ancaman, atau larangan lainya. Akan tetapi larangan di sini juga tidak selamanya bermakna larangan. Kesimpulan yang bisa diambil pada isi artikel ini adalah penjelasan tentang makna larangan yang Allah berika kepada hamba-Nya melalui beberapa bentuk kata serta makna larangan yang keluar dari makna asli larangan.
